Subscription and Auto-Renewal Terms

7.1 Subscription Plans

Honest Fix offers subscription plans for homeowners and contractors. Current plan names, features, and prices are displayed at checkout and on the pricing page. Pricing shown at checkout governs.

Confirmed plan names: DIY Walkthrough (one-time purchase), Fair-Value Estimate / full breakdown (one-time purchase), Homeowner Membership (monthly subscription), and Contractor Membership (monthly subscription). Specific dollar amounts are intentionally not stated in this section; the pricing page and checkout screen govern and are kept current there. Billing cycle is monthly. The app is a web app only at this time and is not distributed through any native app store. If that changes, in-app purchases will be subject to App Store and Google Play billing rules and these Terms must be adjusted.

7.2 Auto-Renewal Disclosure

Important, read before subscribing: Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly, as selected) at the then-current renewal price. Your Stripe payment method will be charged automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Before you complete your purchase, we display: the plan and billing cycle selected; the exact amount charged at purchase and at each renewal; the renewal date; and instructions for how to cancel. By completing your purchase, you expressly authorize these recurring charges. The checkout screen itemizes the plan, price, billing frequency, and next renewal date and price directly above the purchase button, and the button text itself states that clicking authorizes recurring billing (for example "Subscribe, $X billed monthly" rather than a generic "Continue"). No box on that screen is pre-checked.

7.3 Free Trials and Promotional Pricing

If we offer a free trial or promotional rate, we will clearly disclose before you subscribe: the length of the trial or promotional period; the price that applies when it ends; and that you will be charged automatically unless you cancel first. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.

Free trials may be offered. If a free trial is offered, payment information will be collected at the start of the trial period.

7.4 Billing

Subscription fees are billed in advance for the upcoming period via Stripe. If payment fails, we will notify you and may retry. If payment is not received within 7 days, your subscription may be suspended or cancelled.

7.5 Cancellation

You may cancel at any time through: (a) the app, from Account, then Subscription, then Cancel subscription; or (b) by contacting caleb@honestfixapp.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access continues until then. We do not currently offer prorated refunds for mid-period cancellations.

The FTC's click-to-cancel rule was vacated by the Eighth Circuit in Custom Communications, Inc. v. FTC (July 8, 2025) on procedural grounds. ROSCA, the FTC's existing negative-option rule, and FTC Act Section 5 still require a simple cancellation mechanism, and state auto-renewal laws (including California's amended Automatic Renewal Law, the de facto national standard) remain in force. This cancellation flow is built to that standard.

7.6 Refunds

One-time purchases: refundable in full only if no report was generated, for example due to a technical failure. Once a report is delivered, the purchase is non-refundable. Subscriptions: you may cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the paid period, with no refund for partial periods. If a technical error on our part prevented access to a paid feature, contact caleb@honestfixapp.com and we will evaluate a refund on a case-by-case basis. A summary of this refund policy is displayed at the point of purchase, next to the payment button, in addition to appearing in this document.

7.7 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices at any time with at least 30 days' advance notice by email. Continued subscription after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
